FOR THE LAST WEEK I HAVE BEEN FRUSTRATED WITH MY COMPUTER. I HAVE WINDOWS XP
HOME. WHEN I BOOT UP MY COMPUTER THERE IS A BOX THAT COMES UP AND SAYS THAT
WINDOWS IS UNABLE TO OPEN MY PROFILE BECAUSE IT MAY BE CORRUPTED SO IT OPENS
A TEMPERARY PROFILE. WELL IN THIS PROFILE IT HAS NONE OF MY THINGS THAT WERE
THERE BEFORE LIKE EMAIL INTERNET EXPLORER, AND MY COMPUTER RUNS VERY SLOW. I
HAVE RAN SPYBOT, AND NORTON ANTIVIRUS. SPYBOT FOUND SOME THINGS LIKE SPYWARE.
I HAD THEM DELETED, BUT NOTHING HAS CHANGED IT STILL OPENS IN A TEMPERARY
PROFILE AND STILL RUNS VERY SLOW. IS THERE ANYTHING THAT I CAN DO THAT I
ALREADY HAVEN'T DONE? I ALSO TRIED TO RESTORE, BUT IT WON' T LET ME DO THAT
EITHER. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!

First of all, please unstick your CapsLock key. Posting in all
caps, as you have done, is the Usenet equivalent of shouting, and is
considered very rude. More importantly, posting in all caps makes the
post very hard to read, further reducing your chances of getting help.

1) Restart the computer and log in using the built-in Administrator
account.

2) Click Start > Run and enter "control userpasswords2" followed by
clicking "OK."

3) Click "Add....", creating a new username and filling in the
desired information, and then click "Next >"

4) Set the password as desired and click "Next >"

5) Select the desired privilege access level for the new user account
and click "Finish."

Please see the following Knowledge Base article for an alternate
method and more information:

HOW TO Create and Configure User Accounts in Windows XP
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;279783

6) Once the new account has been created, follow the instructions in
the following Knowledge Base article to copy data from your old
account's profile to the new one:

How to Copy User Data to a New User Profile
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;811151

7) Delete the corrupted profile.
