Professional 64-bit no play after reboot

Hi there,

I can't find the 64-bit discussion group? Anyways I've been runing
XP 64-bit for months now and no problem. Now after a restart
I don't get the login screen? The post and Windows spash screen
show as normal. It just stays at the light blue screen with a small
XP logo in the center right.

I try ctrl-alt-del twice to get the Admin login but nothing. Help!
Thanks in advance

I'd first run a RAM test...

then...
boot from the cd and from the repair console try chkdsk /r

if that does not work...you may need to peform a reapir installation...

Hi,
Thanks. The machine needed a complete reinstall. Apparently
a repair didn't do the job. However my data first was backed up
by connecting the hard drive to another machine.

I think the problem was that I tried installing a 32-bit software
that corrupted my 64 bit Windows.

Oh well...
