The Product Key is on an orange label on the back of the folder the CD came
in.
Do you have that folder?

The Product Key is not on the CD nor is it available anywhere else unless it
is currently installed on a computer.

First thing don’t take John R Carty advice. His is trying to get you
in trouble with Microsoft. (John, see below)

If you lost your product key and can prove that the you bought it
legally contact Microsoft for a replacement.

I think Jupiter Jones has those numbers.

John,
There is no way an xp pro upgraded could be pirated. To my knowledge
the don’t make oem for that.

Umm, yes there are OEM versions of XP Pro Upgrade, I know, because I got one from Dell with my previous system, as part of the deal when I bought it before XP went "Gold". It came with 2000 originally, and I got coupon for a free upgrade (if i cose it, which I did). That Nov. of 2001, they sent me the XP Pro Upgrade install disk, which was OEM.

Tom;
There are several Pirated versions of XP Pro upgrade floating around.
Some do not work well but others work fine (or so I am told).

What does that have to do with Greg's claim that there are no such things as XP Pro Upgrade OEM disks?

Tom,

I stand corrected.
I thought Microsoft decided to stop make oem upgrade because they had
so many problem with the windows me oem upgrade disk. I guess they
change their minds

I am little confused on your statement. Are you saying dell sent you
an xp pro upgrade disk later then when you got your system? If so,
Isn’t dell violating the oem license agreement. I thought they were
supposed to enclose it with the system?

No violation, it was a promo when I bought the PC, before the official release of XP. I got that PC in July of 2001, and the offer to upgrade to XP was part of the deal, if one wanted it. I took it, and got the disk shortly after XP went Gold. It was an actual holographically MS logoed OEM upgrade disk. I sold the PC, and obviously, the disk went with it, as well as the 2000 disk and any additional software bundles that came with it.

No, there's no violation. This is a common practice for the better
OEMs. They realize that some people might hold off buying a new
computer, if there's a new operating system to be released in the near
future, so they sell the computer with the current OS and media, along
with a coupon/voucher for a free or greatly reduced upgrade to the next
OS, when it becomes available.
