Product Key Validation

As a computer builder, I am authorized to use the WinXP OEM version. I
accidentally loaded the product key for my husbands computer -- now I get a
product key validation error because that key was already used on another
machine. When I try to reload WinXp using the repair option, my computer
crashes before it can reboot to log back in to complete the load. Any
suggestions to update the product key with the correct copy so I can get this
computer to get past the product key validation error?

No, you did not install Windows XP using a Volume License version.

Try the "Windows XP Product Key Modifier"

| I guess if I have no other choice -- but I've been reading more. I was going

|
| Which edits the registry and just reloads the key. Will that not work?

Actually it will work with any version of Windows XP.

The second script in the KB is what I use and haven't had any issues with it.
