Product Key Invalid

Hi,

I bought a OEM license of Windows XP via Internet, I
received a nice cool sticker of Certificate of
Authenticity with Genuine Microsoft hologram on the
backgroud, but when I used the Product Key that printed
on it to install, it would want to accept & indicate is a
Invalid Product Key...

Is anyone know where on Internet can you check if the
Product Key you get in actually legal or not.

Thanks

You'll need a Microsoft OEM CD in order to use an
OEM Product Key. An OEM Product Key will only
work with an OEM version of Windows XP. It will
not work with a "retail version" of Windows XP.

It is usually best to purchase an OEM Product Key
with an actual OEM installation CD in order to avoid
the predicament you now have.

On the off-chance that this is a valid key, you can call the activation
phone number and ask the question. I have a new Averatec laptop with an
OEM XP distribution that required activation (much to my surprise, the
first OEM that did), but the on-line activation reported an invalid key.
Knowing that the system was legal, I simply made the call and was
supplied a valid key that activated.
