Windows Media Center, Product Key and Acer

Hi people,

I bought a Acer computer with Windows Media Center. I format it
because the preinstalation has a lot of programs that i don't need,
and the computer goes slow.

So, I reinstalled the windows Media Center with a pirate copy. I
wanted to put my legal product key, but it can't accept when I was
installing. Now, I have it installed, but i can't change de product
key, because in WPAEvent i can't find the property to set a new
product key.

Is invalid my product key from Acer? So ideas to put my Acer product
key?

In order for this to have worked, you would have needed to install with
a legitimate generic OEM version of MCE. You didn't. You will now need
to either use the restore disks you got (or made) with the Acer or get a
generic OEM MCE and do a clean install with it, using the Product Key
that is on the sticker on the bottom of your laptop. You will need to
phone in the activation in that case.

Reinstall the legitimate copy of XP that came with the system. Why you
would you install a pirated copy in the first place is beyond me.
