You can't. You'll actually need the Product Key to install it.

And if the one you bought is an OEM version that was already installed, you are the proud owner of an MS WinXP Coaster.

You don't. You got ripped off. What you bought was a 50 cent piece of
plastic. The product key and license is what is really valuable.
Unfortunately you will need to purchase a license from microsoft or goto the
local store and buy a real copy of xp.

sorry but you need one...
thats the way microsot sells the product (not by CD's but
by the product key ...)

you will have to buy it ... + you would have had problems
activating it

You don't. If the seller did not provide you with the Product Key
at the time of purchase, you don't have a legitimate license to use
the software. I suggest that you go knock on the seller's door. Take
along a local law enforcement officer of your choice, if you feel it
necessary.
