Product activation

unlikely. I have changed twice on my system and it didn't require
reactivation.

Also, USB or serial port versions (externals) never require any
activation.

That change alone will not cause the reactivation to kick up.

No. Modems (also printers) are not among the hardware items monitored
by product activation.
