Processor running at 100% !!!

WinXP-Pro: How can I find out what's causing this?
Occasionally everything slows way down so I check Task
Manager and see that CPU is pegged at 100%. No apps
running so I check the "Processes" tab and it shows user,
SYSTEM is doing "system" at 100%. Is there something
more specific that will tell me what's really going on
here?

I have the same problem and came here looking for an answer. Haven't seen
it yet.
