Hi ... Can anyone explain as to why in the devise manager
under "Processor" My Processor is shown twice ? TIA

Brief elaboration:
Hyperthreading is an Intel technology integrated into recent Pentium IV
processors. It exploits parallelism in the processor and thus the Operating
System "sees" two processors. In addition, certain applications obtain
enhanced performance as a result.
Note, however, that these are two logical processors, as opposed to physical
processors. Therefore, despite the Operating System's dual processor
recognition, your PC only has one processor. Applications that are licensed
per processor (such as MS SQL) are purchased based on the physical processors.
I hope this helps.

Joe

HyperThreading also has enabled in the system BIOS in order for the two
processors to show in device manager.
