Process1_initialization_Failed

T

Tom E

Trying to debug a boot-failure on my laptop running W2K
Professional/NTFS. When the W2K GUI is starting up, at 2/3
of the startup bar I get a Blue screen /w stop
error "Process1_Initialization_Failed.

No recent hw/sw changes, no updates applied that might
cause this. Tried all options, e.g. bios-settings, safe
mode, debug, last config, emergency boot, repair disk,
recovery console. Cannot find info on this error on the
Web.

Any suggestions to resolve ?

Is it a stop 0x0000006B error?
If so, it can be caused by any part of the disk subsystem, including bad
disks, bad or incorrect cables, mixing different ATA-type devices on the
same chain, or drives that are not available due to hardware regeneration.
It can also be caused by a missing file from the boot partition, or by a
driver file that has been disabled from the Drivers tab by mistake.
