problems with Xerox M950 multifunction printer and XP OS

Can anyone assist please? After upgrading to XP, I reloaded the driver from
my original CD and updated with what is supposed to be XP version of driver.
(This Xerox workcentre is not on list of printers on XP install). Install
seems to go ok, however, my workcentre does not work properly. ie. will not
scan, sometimes does not print and other times system tells me that there is
no communication between pc and printer. When this occurs, I shut down and
try again and then I can print. ????????????????????????????

Thanks,

mary

You shouldn't have installed the old non-XP driver from your CD.
First uninstall the old driver following the directions here:
http://members.shaw.ca/bsanders/CleanPrinterDrivers.htm
Then go here http://tinyurl.com/o9tnv to get the XP driver.
Download, printout, and read the installation instructions at that web site.
Follow them carefully.

You might also want to look at http://www.mcse.ms/archive57-2005-5-1612273.html
but I can't vouch for it.

this http://www.mcse.ms/message1612273.html is an easier-to read version of the
thread at the second link I posted above.
