Hi,

I was trying to import from my digital camera to WMM and the computer shuts
down. It has been working fine till tonight I don't know what is happening.
Can someone please help me. I am using Windows Vista If there is anything
else you need to know please let me know.
Thanks

Could be a problem with incompatibility with the files from your camera.
Which make and model is it?
Though if it worked before, it could be maybe something else has changed
which has upset it, like removing or adding a programme/codec update etc.

But if i didn't change anything why wouldn't it work...I didn't remove or add
any programs...

Could be that you are adding too many files to the timeline which makes MM
baulk at doing it, 1 incompatible file works, 2 may, 3 fails???
What file type are they? How many clips did you use?
If you convert them to wmv and try again, does it work?

ok as I said in my first post when I try to import from digital camera the
computer shuts down.

copy file from camera to pc hard disc and convert to wmv then import into
MM.

if it did work, then somehting must have changed, so you need to find out
what has changed and go back to that point and do it exactly the same way,
using same clips of same duration and type.

Have you tried system restore back to when it did work?
What make and model is the camera?
What file type does it produce?

ok just so it's clear to you, when i connect my camera to the computer it
shuts down..I'll have someone take a look at it.

That's clear to me, perhaps you'd like to answer the questions, what make
and model is the cam, what file type does it produce? Have you tried system
resptre back to when it worked?

Is Movie Maker open when you connect the camera and the pc shuts down?
If so then it's a pc problem and you should get someone to look at it.

Yep, got that, can you answer the questions I'm posing so that I might be
able to give you an answer to your problem.
One last time..............
what make and model is the cam,
what file type does it produce?
Have you tried system restore back to when it worked?
How is it connected?
