problems with win2K and Heroes of Might and Magic 6

i'm hoping someone can help me out with an istallation issue i've been having trying to install Heroes of Might and Magic 6 (Mandate of Heaven). I get an *_INS error whenever i try to install the game. the 'read me' log does mention getting that error, but nothing has worked in getting the game installed. the OS is widows 2000pro SP4, and i have been able to install other games without a problem.

any ideas/helpful hints? Thanks!
