problems with tv capture and reinstall

Hi,

Tried to capture some video (TV), seems to work but stops after 4-5
seconds. MMC crashes, i.e. stays visible, but won't abort (even on task
manager).
So tried to reinstall MMC (9.06) but now the channel-wizard hangs at
appr. 5%, then again hangup.
Also tried mmc9.0, 8.9 and 8.7, but always a crash at the
channel-search (exhausted search) at 5%.

System: AsusP5P800/Intel p4/650/2 g ram/aiw9800, latest catalyst(5.12),
latest wdm/uci/dao.

What's wrong?
Are there any other PVR/TV applications compatible with aiw's?

MMC works fine once you get it installed correctly. I'd try doing a repair
install of MMC. If that doesn't work ,it's a good time to make sure you have
the latest BIOS and chipset drivers for your M/B, then run the cat
uninstaller. This will remove all of the ATI files. You should have DX9.0c
installed and SP2 if using XP. Reinstall capture, display drivers and
control panel(s) then files from MMC page. If you use a Remote Wonder its
last. Its important to do this in ATI's recommended order. I make up a list
and print it out then cross off things as I do them. I use 9.08. If you want
to use Guide+ use 9.06.
Lost track but the Cat 5.12 may require CCC which requires .NET. I'm still
using the Cat 5.6 release. If you don't want to install .NET you may need to
drop back on the Cats too.
