Problems with trusted sharing

Peter

I am on a closed network behind a firewall. I recently
bought the Access 2002 upgrade. I converted an existing
access database from 97 to 2002 then Upsized it to SQL. The
97 and 2002 MDBs had a security password. After the file
went to the 2002 SQL that comes with the package I tried to
create an ODBC link but it would only allow me to select
Windows NT and not the user id and password I want. When I
try to selct that is says its not a trusted connection.
This happens both on the machine itself where the database
is as well as all others on the closed IP network. This
never used to happen. It appears theres a SQL setting to
say one can use eitehr trusted or the ID/password but I
cant find it.

The security setting of your SQL Server has been set to Windows only (which
is the default setting for the installation setup), instead of SQL Server
and Windows logins.

Open the Enterprise Manager and look at the properties of the SQL Server
under the Security tab.

Access 2002 doesnt come with enterprise manager, so somehow
the settings got to be entered by hand i think?? perhaps
with regedit?
