Problems with RIS

My RIS service is running on Win2k Server with all the latest patches
and hotfixes.

My problem is that I am trying to RIS a particular model of Dell
Workstation (Precision 670) with Windows XP (with or without SP2
Sliptreamed into the image)and failing. The sequence of events is as
follows:

1. the machine will boot w/PXE and get an IP address it allows
authentication on the RIS server via the console, then get a blank
screen and the keyboard freezes when the unit prepares to begin the
textmode part of the setup.

2. replaced the onboard NIC with a PCI Intel pro/100 which will boot
using the W2K RBFG floppy. The system gets an IP address and
authenticates then fails the same way it did in No.1

3. Disconnected the SATA h/drive and replaced it with a standard IDE
ATA h/drive. Disabled the SATA in the BIOS as well. The result was the
same as No.1

4. Disabled Processor No 2 / IDE CDRom / onboard NIC got the same
problem as No. 1

5. Flashed the BIOS still no change

The machine builds fine if I RIS it using the W2K image I have on the
RIS Server. Further manually installing WinXP is not an issue from CD
the machines will build with no problems. I have 10 of these machines
and a random selection of 4 them to build has exhibited the same
problem. No other model of that I build here exhibits this problem
from that RIS Server. No there are no error messages when the system
fails, which is what makes the problem perplexing

HELP!!!!! ANYONE PLEASE WHO MAY HAVE AN IDEA

Sorry these solutions do not solve my problem as I have since changed the
network card to use one which will be accepted by the RBFG floppy (see notes
for the problem below) That in turn means that card is compilant with
Windows own drivers and I can autheticate myself on the RIS server select my
image, name the machine when I press Enter to start the actual install, the
screen goes black as it normally does but then stays black and the number
lock on the keyboard freezes in the on position. As started before there are
no error messages as the screen is just black.

The image works on other Dell boxes and non-Dell boxes, just not this
specific model

Thanx anyway
