Problems with retrieving archive data Outlook 2002

Situation- Change of computer. Using Outlook 2002. I
archived all folders in OUtlook then burned on a CD.
When I try and import the pst file from the CD on the new
computer, I get 'File Access Denied, you do not have the
permission etc'. If I look at the properties for the
file it is Read Only and file type is "Office Data File"
no extension (I expected to see extension of pst??)
This backup contains all my email history and it
important to me!
 
Copy the .pst file to your hard drive and remove the read-only flag before
trying to open (not import!!!!) it in Outlook.
 
Copy to hd, turn read only flag off, then in OL open the pst.
You can import, but this can lead to problems.
NB do not overwrite any existing pst!
