Problems with resolution and wireless internet connection when comming out of standby!!!!

I currently use win xp home on a laptop. When i close the screen the computer altomatically goes on standby, the problems occurs when i come out of standby and try to log on again. My internet connection is lost and to get it back i have to enable and disable my network connection, also my resoultion of the screen atomatically drops from the 1920*1200 to 640*480 which gets very annoying. Can anyone please help!!!!!!!

First off, disable the auto standby(hibernation) feature and run thru a few
hoops.
