Problems with reinstalling Microsof Office XP

How to fix error message: The operating system is not presently configured
to run this application. Any help would be much appreciated.
 
What version of Windows are you trying to install Office XP on?

Is Terminal Server involved?
 
I am using Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 5.1.600 Series Pack 2
Build 2000. There is no terminal server; I am using a notebook pc connected
not connect to a server except IP service provider.
 
By the way , the (e-mail address removed) is my old e-mail address & I am also
unsure how this can be changed in the windows settings. I have tried system
restore but am still unable to get the office applications running because of
failure to load plus the error message as indicated.
 
Are you trying to install it from a limited account. You would need to use
an admin account to install any program.

I am the computer admin account & thus not limited. Any other suggestions as
I have tried the retore options without success.
