Problems with Java

[Freezy]

I'm not sure if its my browser or Java itself but it no longer loads
java applets. It says "loading applet" and stays like that. Also
previously if I had 2 different Java apps loaded they sometimes
overlayed each other, certain parts of one java window would appear on
another separate java window. I've tried uninstalling and
reinstalling. It doesn't work in IE or firefox but works in opera.

For MS Java: To verify your version, go to Start/Run and type in: wjview
