Problems with Inbox - mails gone and wont work

I opened outlook express/windows mail the other day and all my emails that
were in my inbox have disapeared.

All the emails that were stored in folders are still there.

On the folder bar on the left it says i have 5 mails inbox but cant see any
of them. Also i have numerous emails trying to come through and my email
scanner is saying it is transferring them, but they never arrive. It has said
5 inbox for days.

Can anyone help? I really need to get my email working again.

Error message i get when i click on my send/receive button is:

An unknown error has occurred. Account: 'pop.ntlworld.com (1)', Server:

Go to View | Current View | Show all messages and see if you see them then.
Also, for the error message you are getting see point 3 here and the section
on WinMail : www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
