problems with hotmail

My Outlook 2003 client has recently been unable to access my hotmail account.
When I click on hotmail's inbox folder a dialog appears asking my email
address and password which I had used to successfully login for many months
before. I'm able to sign in using MSN Messenger 7.0 and login to my hotmail
account via the web pretty easily. But Outlook 2003 just can't seem to
connect.

Is there anything to check for ? It worked yesterday and I changed nothing !!

I had the same on one of my accounts yesterday. A restart of Outlook fixed
it for me. Note that sometimes a mailbox or type of connection is
unavailable due to maintenance. I assume you are using a paid Hotmail
account?

Tips of the month:
-FREE tool; QuickMail. Create new Outlook items anywhere from within Windows
-Properly back-up and restore your Outlook data

oh thanks, that solved the problem.

I had it running almost constantly that I forgot I can restart it LOL.

I'm using free account, not paid one.

You're welcome! :)

Note that officially connecting to Hotmail from within OE and Outlook
without a paid subscription is unsupported and is being turned off by
Hotmail. There are some exceptions made for people who have their account
for a long long time so you might be one of those lucky ones ;-)
