Problems with firewire device

Hi,

I seem to have problems with attaching a maxtor firewire/usb drive.
When I attach it to the usb port it works fine, but when I attach it to
the firewire port, xpe will detect it, ask for drivers, but then I
can't see the device.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

Hi Tim,

Go to device manager and/or devcon and make sure that you actually can't see device driver and disk driver.
There is possibility that you do not see volumes for some reason. In this case you would need to modify MountedDevices in registry.

I have experienced the same problem. I was told that there is a 'hotfix"
from Microsoft to address a problem concerning SP2 and firewire devices. I
couldn't find the fix on Microsoft's site, though.
