Just got a new Dell 530 computer with Windows Vista Premium. Trying to get
Outlook to work with my ISP (Verizon). Having trouble sending mail using
Outlook. Get the following message: "The rejected e-mail address was 'my
address' .
Subject",Account:'incoming.verizon.net',Server:'outgoing.verizon.net',Protocol:SMTP,Server
Response:'550 5.7.1 Authentication Required', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No,
Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC78"

Does anyone have any idea how I can fix this problem?

I'm not sure Outlook 2000 works well under Vista. Versions 2003
and later work well; version 2002 works with a few problems.

Thanks for your help! I got on the telephone with a Dell technical help
person and we got the issue resolved. You are correct that Outlook 2000
doesn't work well with Vista Premium Home Edition. All I wanted to do was get
all my names and addresses from my Outlook directory from work loaded into
the new Windows Mail. I was able to do this so I don't need to pursue a new
version of Outlook.
