Problems with downloading jpg pictures from Internet Explorer

My PC is no longer able to download jpg files. Whenever I try downloading a
picture I have to download it as a bmp file. I have emptied all temporary
internet files and all offline files. Up until a few days ago that allways
helped, now it doesn't. Can anyone help? (I am using ZoneLabs' anti virus
program, and ZoneLabs' firewall as well as Window's own firewall, and have
done so for quite some time. Therefore I doubt that I have a virus on the PC.)

Thank you, but I had already tried that - and it didn't work. Maybe the
problem lies within my cable company and not in my PC.
However, there is a way to walk around the problem, when it comes to
pictures which are hidden behind thumbs: I just right click on the thumb and
apply the "Save target as" option. Then they get downloaded in the original
format.
For all the other pictures (which are relatively few in number, thank
goodness) I just use the "Send-picture-as-email" option.

You're not going to believe this, but it seems that I have solved the
problem. I clicked Tools, Internet options, and then I used the "Move folder"
option for the Temporary internet files. I moved the whole folder to a folder
I just created in the My documents main folder, and the problem was instantly
solved. Don't ask me why. I also discovered that there are actually two
folders called Temporary internet folders - one in English and one in
Norwegian (I'm from Norway).
