Problems with Dell P780 Trinitron monitor

I have a Dell P780 Trinitron monitor, and just this morning the image seems
to be flashing pink occasionally and the white colours on the screen have a
pink tinge to them.

Any ideas on why this is happening? And how to fix it?

This is usually a short in a bad cord, most often at the monitor. Try
twisting it, gently, to see if the screen returns to normal.
