Hi, I am having problems with the default pop3 account in my Outlook 2003
client. I have 4 pop3 accounts setup to receive emails from but have 1 set as
the default to send from.

Recently a problem has occured where I send emails using my default account,
but when I check in the sent log it's actually used the next pop3 account in
line to send from, ie not my default. I changed the order of the other
accounts and it just used the next one in line after the default.

I deleted the default account then recreated, it fixed the problem for a day
then it came back. I've deleted and recreated a few times and have ahd the
same result.

Please help as this is very frustrating.

Are you authenticating to the SMTP server? (There is a known issue of items
jumping between accounts when a server throws back an error of can't relay
messages. Outlook just requeues for the next account. :/)

Hi Neo, no I'm not authenticating to any of the pop accounts, should
I be?

If you can't send mail, then probably, but your ISP can tell you for sure.

turn it on and see if u get the desired results. (tools > email accounts >
view/change existing accounts > properties on an existing account > more
options button > outgoing server tab to turn on authentication.)
