Problems with ATT broadband card...

Mike

Gateway laptop, running Vista Home Premium, SP1, using ATT's Broadband
service & their GT Ultra Express card.
There are times that I cannot connect to the internet, the software will
show that it's connected, but the Network & Sharing Center will show an X
between Network & Internet.
I have talked to ATT's tech support, who says it's a Vista problem.
I have talked to Microsoft, who says it's either a Gateway ot ATT problem.
I have talked to Gateway who says it's a Microsoft or ATT problem.
I have searched Google & can't find my exact situation, most of them deal
with home woreless routers, etc.
In the event viewer, I am seeing a message that says something along the
lines of;
'The IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx for the network card with the network
address (MAC address) has been denied by the DHCP server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx.
(The DHCP Server sent a DHCPPNACK message).
Is the laptop trying to renew its last used address & finding it not to be
available?
If so, how can I prevent or change this?
Any other advice gladly appreciated!

Mr. Simpson, there are thousands of people like you with no discernable

Yeah, they're called Congress.

Not quite, there are only 500+ in Congress.

If the opposite of Pro is Con, what is the opposite of Progress?

Just can't resist? Most teenagers are like that (or people who never matured
past that stage).

Like most OS, Linux has it's place.
While I wouldn't use it on my personal machine, I have it working fine on
50+ business machines.
The machines would have been retired and new hardware purchased if Vista
hadn't sucked so bad.
But they were upgraded from 98/ME/NT and continue to be productive.
