Problems with all PDF writing software

I wonder if anyone else has had problems creating PDF documents in the XP 64
bit environment? The most typical way that all the PDF Writers work is by
creating a dummy PDL printer onto computer...so when one's ready to create
PDL document, he or she would just select the PDL printer and the PDL
document is created...just that simple. The problem that I've been running
into, is that XP 64 bit won't load PDF drivers that create the dummy PDL
printer. I've tried four different software packages (e.g. Adobe Acrobat
Distiller, PDF995, Solid Converter PDF, & deskPDF) all with no success. I've
also noticed that the manufacture pick list of "add printers" doesn't include
Adobe or any other generic PDF printers. I just wanted to know if anyone has
found an exceptable work-around?

Almost everyone has but they complain in the x64 newsgroup. You should
contact the software manufacturers and ask if they have updates for their
applications so that they work in x64. It's not the operating system, it's
the third party software.

Hogwash...just imagine that we didn't have any of the 2nd party printer
suppliers to release their S/W at all...are you teling me that Microsoft
would just release a new OS without at least one generic printer driver to at
least get the end user staterd? My whole frustration is that point...every
Windows OS from Me to XP is able to utilize any PDF print drivers...PDF
Writers are now part of the business landscape, in my opinion it ranks as
high as MS Word...consider it a staple in the industry and now you're telling
me that because none of PDF Writer vendors were able to meet the release
date of Windows XP 64 bit that it is perfectly acceptable not to offer
anything in its place? I was sold on the whole idea that Windows XP 64 bit
having the capability to operate both 32bit & 64 bit applications
seemlessly...it's suppose to be the next big thing, yet something as
fundamental as a PDF print driver isn't even accounted for... I don't know
about you, but I liken my situation to purchasing a top of the line Lexus,
yet I'm told that I cannot get the Navigation option because it's vendor or
partner didn't have enough time to bring it to market...with all that said,
do you or anyone else know of any work-around or bridging S/W that may remedy
the problem of getting any of the hundreds of 32 bit PDF Writer applications
to work on Windows XP 64 bit?

Having the same challenge. Just reloaded XP and cannot add Acrobat as a
printer or save anything as a pdf.
Have you found a solution yet (and maybe haven't posted it)
Sure would appreciate your insight if you have.
