problems with accessing sites using the address bar

Recently, i have been having trouble accessing sites
through the address bar. When i type in any address, the
following page comes up

http://start-page.info/?u=1526&error=

this is then followed by the addres for the site i tried
to access.

This problem does not occur when accessing sites through
favourites or throughlinks from other sites, onlythrough
the addres bar.

Does anyone know why this happens or what i could do to
fix it?

This is probably being caused by a third-party program (adware, spyware,
parasite)

Work through the solutions (CWShredder, Ad-aware, Spybot) at

I just had this same problem earlier today. I believe I've gotten rid
of it, though. It was fairly simple. At the bottom of the
http://start-page.info/?u=1526 page there is a link that says
something like, "Problem, click here", I don't remember for sure and I
sure as hell am not going back to that page for as long as I possibly
can. Anywho, the link took me to http://start-page.info/uninstall, I
believe that was it. This is what it brings up.....


"If you don't want to continue using this page, follow instruction
below:
1. Download uninstaller (right click and choose "Save target as.."
from pulldown menu)

2. Run it

3. Change your start page to "about:blank" in the IE settings (Tools
-> Internet Options)

Enjoy with your clear PC.. and stop looking for free porn - try to buy
membership on a good paysite"

I guess I won't be going to that website anymore to look at free porn.
