Problems with 2000 after upgrades

On a Dell GX270 running Windows 2000 Professional with
Offix XP, after we installed the latest service patches
and security updates as well as the latest Office XP
patches we can no longer run the search function from the
Start menu, can no longer reach the Microsoft Update site,
we are unable to follow links on some other sites that we
frequent, and we are unable to print HTML type documents
to any of our network printers. Does anyone have ANY idea
what went wrong and how we can fix this?
