Problems w movie play - Powerpoint

Whenever I try to play a movie slide in my powerpoint presentation, the
program freezes and gives me
"MCI error this application is being closed"
Then I have to CTRL ALT DEL and end the program.

The same movie works fine if I find it thru Windows Explorer and open the
movie file that way.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Office 2003 but that has not
fixed the problem.
