Problems transferring calendar between PSTs

Jason

Office XP (Outlook 2002 - SP3). Is it possible to transfer the calendar
data from one PST file to another? We have a user

that we've just set up with a new PST file as the default mail delivery
location as the old PST was close to the 2 Gig limit.

If I drag the old calendar to the new PST file it just appears below the
new calendar & exporting the data doesn't work either. Unfortunately if I
leave the calendar in the old PST file the user doesn't get alerts to
appointments that have been previously added.

TIA, Jason

Hi Jason,
Is it possible to transfer the calendar
data from one PST file to another?

Normaly yes, if you have access to the PST files.
the default mail delivery
location as the old PST was close to the 2 Gig limit.

The way you tried is normaly the way I also prefer to copy/move calendar
items.

Maybe the complete calendar folder is to much for the PST file, if the 2 GB
limit is reached.

Change the view in the calendar that you want to copy to "category view".

Mark only a few calendar items (as best the actual or newest items) and copy
only a few of the calndar items into the new PST file.

If this works, you can copy the items you need, step by step.

Maybe it helps.

Copy the contents of the calendar, not the calendar itself. Open the source
calendar folder, display the calendar in a table view like By Category,
select all the entries with CTRL-A and either right-click and drag the
selection to the desired calendar, choosing Copy when you release the mouse
button, or click Edit>Copy to Folder and specify the desired calendar as the
destination.
