I have been trying to reinstall a network card (d-Link
DFE 690TXD)in my XP Home operated Dell Inspiron laptop at
no avail. One day I had a probem with my internet account
and the service was cut off, I though the problem was in
the card, and uninstalled. After making several attemps
to reinstall the driver for the card, I realized were the
problem was and reactivated my internet account. However,
now, when I try to reinstall the card, I get a message
that says: error occurred, the name is already in use as
either a service name or a service display name. And next
to the name of the device there is a # sign followed by a
number, which would increase at every attempt I wouold
make : it is on #7 now.
