Hello all! Got a weird question for ya, i hope i'm in an appropriate forum

I got a network everywhere nwr04b wireless router. all set up for a wired PC
and wireless access. both computers can access internet and share files.

problem is, very frequently i will go to a web site (on either computer) and
see the standard IE page stating there is a problem with the website (as if
its down). I hit refresh a couple of times, then usually the page will come
back up. I've had that happen (but not often) with some very reliable pages
like yahoo.com or my bank royalbank.com, so i'm pretty sure something is
wrong with my setup.

and its not consistent, so if i try the same site that didnt work on the
first time on a different day, it would work straight away. I'm guessing it
has something to do with DNS servers?

i've tried taking the router to my folks home and using their computer, same
thing (albeit same service provider!). but when i take the router off, never
had that problem.

anyone have any suggestoins? I'm using XP firewall, but before i was using
zone alarm (with DNS in safe zone) and same thing happened, even if I disable
firewall.

Mikey,

When you see that problem (on one computer), what happens if you try the same
website from the other computer?

When you experience this problem, resolve the website name using a whois lookup,
from either:
http://216.92.207.177/toolbox or
http://69.2.200.183/

With the ip address resolved,
1) Ping the website (using ip address);
2) Browse the website (using ip address);
3) Ping the website (using the name).

Observe (copy if possible) exact text of error messages, and paste in your next
reply.

Please provide ipconfig information for each computer, let's see if a problem is
indicated there.
Start - Run - "cmd". Type "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" into the command
window - Open c:\ipconfig.txt in Notepad, make sure that Format - Word Wrap is
NOT checked!, copy and paste entire contents into your next post. Identify
operating system (by name, version, and SP level) with each ipconfig listing.
