Problems installing XPE Tools SP1

When trying to install XP Embedded tools SP1 on a Windows XP SP2 system
I'm getting the following error.

Error 1904. Module "path to file" failed to register. HRESULT. contact
your support personnel.

The files that are failing are:
regxpe.dll
uiutils.dll
cmi.dll
cmim.dll
duscaut.dll
importfw.dll
imprtinf.dll
dkfimporter.dll
sdiaut.dll

I've checked my path environment variables and they seem ok. I can
manually register the files but after that when I go to database setup
the I get a message that the component database is in use and the
install rolls back. I've killed just about every service and have had
no luck.

Any help would be appreciated.

Xchequer,

By any chance is the DEP (Data Execution Prevention) enabled on your SP2 machine?
If so, you may want to turn it off and try the installer again.
