Problems Installing SP2

I am having problems installing my SP-2 upgrade. When it is installing it
gets to the part of "installing cabinets" and then restarts my computer. I
have followed all the instructions and tips from Microsoft (removed spyware,
disabled antivirus, etc.) and it still does the same. I have also tried
installing it in "safe mode" but that doesn't work either. Can someone give
me some advice or tips on how to fix this?

Check out to see if there are trojans in there; these seem to mess up SP2
install - looks OK then goes nuts first boot.
For trojans get specific killers from Symantec Website.
Also if you're not, use CD issued by MS, not the downloaded auto-update
version, as this latter seems flaky.
