Problems installing Front Page on new computer

Just got a new computer with Windows XP SP2 installed.

I have FP 2000 upgrade, but it requires I install FP98 first to recognize
the upgrade. The FP 98 disk starts but nothing happens when clicking the
button to install FP. Does anyone know if FP 98 can be installed on XP with
service pack2 already installed?

I tried going through Windows Explorer and clicking on the setup.exe file
and I've tried going through add/remove programs.

I tried it on my husbands computer and it works with XP SP1 , then he
upgraded to service pack2. It works. But I NEED this on my computer and SP@
is already installed on the new system.

Since I have upgrades, I need to install the old ones in order to add the
upgrades! Any suggestions? Please Help!

Don't install FP 98
Install the FP 2000 upgrade and when asked for the location of your qualifying product insert the FP 98 CD

Followed your instructions and also disabled Windows firewall this time. Not
sure which one did the trick, but I got in installed! Thanks for the help!

You don't need to install the prior version to install the upgrade version,
just have the disk handy so the installation program can do the check that
you have the prior version.
