Problems in Login

I have XP Pro. I was in the process of saving a wav file with the Sound
Forge Application when my PC got stuck. I switched my PC off and on and from
that time the bloting process is very slow. Specially when I come to the
Welcome Screen where I chose the user to login in, it takes around 20
muniutes to log in, my profile settings are lost and I can hardly work as it
is extremely slow.

I tried to defragment the disks ( I have two 74GB disks, the one with my
data seemed to work ok, the one with the OS was stuck during "Analyzing ).

I would appreciate any hint or suggestion to overcome this problem.

Thanks in Advance for any help.

.
Sender; it sounds like it is a driver problem. the
driver could not be compatable with Windows XP. I would
start the computer in safe mode and take out this program
as well as the wav file you put in.

Thanks for your reply! I have done this procedure hundred of times before.
So I guess it is not a matter of incompatibility of Sound Forge and XP.
I have already deleted the wav file ( after spending almost 40 minutes!!!! )
but the problem still remains.
