problems in getting to the Windows starting menu

When I switch on my computer, I have to choose between many options: safe
mode, windows normally etc.. I think because it was not switch off correctly
last time. And if I click to any of the choices, it just does not do much and
go back to the same menu afterwards.
What can I do to solve this pb? Can someone help me ?

) Choose "Safe Mode". If it boots in ok restart and try to boot in normally.

) If that doesn't work try a repair with the WinXP CD. Requires your BIOS
set to boot to CD if it doesn't do so.
