problems downloading

hi,
when i click on a download link on any web site it used
to come uo with the save or open dialogue box ,now it
just comes up with http/// in the address bar and this
page cannot be displayed,or it just returns me to the
site i came from.when i right click on it and save target
as it works fine ,how do i get this back .

ok sorted now ,was a parasite highjacking the website
