Problems deleting old NT BDC from AD - "DSA Object could not be deleted"

So I still have some old NT BDCs listed in my "Domain Controllers"
section os AD Users and Computers. And I wish to get rid of some of them. So
I go into AD Users and Computers; go into "Domain Controllers"; hilight one
of the ones I wish to delete (which has already been physically disconnected
fomr the network), and right-click and choose "Delete". I get back a message
"The DSA Object can not be deleted".
So I try to get rid of it by following MS KB 216498, HOW TO: Remove Data
in Active Directory After an Unsuccessful Domain Controller Demotion. But
when I get to the point about "list servers in site", I do not see the
server I wish to delete. This old server has not been added to the "Sites
and Services" of this domain, so I can't delete it from there. I tried
adding it as a new server in "Sites and Services" (in my only site, the
"Default-First-Site"), and while it shows up in the site, I still can't see
it, as per KB 216498.

So now I'm stuck. I have this (and a couple other) old NT BDCs I want to
delete out of AD. At this point, I am leery of trying to delete any of the
remaining old NT BDCs (which are online, as opposed to this first one I am
trying to delete).

Help, anyone?

You can delete it with ADSI Edit that's included in the Support Tools on the
Server CD and you can also use Ntdsutil.exe utility to manually remove the
NTDS Settings object.
Don't forget to remove any references in DNS and WINS.

How do I use ntdsutil to remove the NTDS Settings object? I could use a list
of steps. I'm new at AD.

As I have said below, that HOWTO does not work for me. The instructions
indicate that the server I wish to remove must be chosen from the returned
list of servers in the site, and my server is not listed in the site. Only
my Win2K servers, that are DCs, are listed in the site. And the server I
wish to remove is an old NT BDC. AD Users and Computers shows it as a
"Domain Controller", but "Sites and Services" does not list it. Since it's
not in "Sites and Services", the NTDSUTIL procedure in the HOWTO never lists
it as an object to be deleted.
