Problems deleting file

A program i was using to interigate a file crashed whilst in use and now XP
thinks the file is still in use, even though it isn't. This obviusly stops me
from deleting the file, is there anyway to re-set the flags for a file and
repair this??

Any help much appreciated

Try deleting it in Safe Mode.
