Our office has Windows 2000 Server and a small network
(192.168.0.0/255.255.255.192), connected to the internet via an ISDN
demand-dial interface.
The server is a domain controller and runs DNS, DHCP & NAT. It is the only
server on the network. Everything seems fine that end; the domain functions
and everyone has internet access via the demand dial.
At home I have WinXP Pro, I connect to the net via an ADSL modem. My PC has
two network adapters (an on-board Intel Pro 100 and a 1394 device) - both
are disabled.
My computer is set up as a member of a workgroup with the same name as my
office domain.
My computer has an account in the AD listing of the office domain
controller. I log on to my home computer with the same username/password as
I use for my domain login.
As it is I can do the following:
Successfully connect to the server by VPN. I am a member of the
Administrators group - unjustifiably it seems! (so authentication is OK?)
PING the server or computers on the office network, with FQDN or by
computer name (suggesting DNS is working?)
Run pcAnywhere over the link.
However, I cannot:
View / browse either the server, the workgroup, or workgroup computers
Map shares either using the GUI or the NET USE command.
Send prints to domain printers.
Bizarrely, I used to be able to do ALL the above, and I cannot figure out
what has changed.
Any ideas PLEASE
