Problems accessing net for different users on same PC

Hi, hope someone can help.

On my PC my user account can access the net via a broadband connection from
Explorer. Other user accounts, after opening Explorer, get a pop up asking
if it is a dial up connection, which one, etc.

I guess I simply haven't made all accounts have the same method of accessing
the internet, although I would have thought they would just inherit the
characteristics of mine. I just can't find what it is I need to alter.

Any help greatly received.

Rob,

If you have broadband (and a broadband modem with Ethernet), the simplest
solution is for you to manage the broadband connection with a NAT router. The
router makes the internet service available no matter who is logged on,
instantly.

If you have a broadband modem with USB (yuck), you have to connect the modem
directly to a computer. You then have to load drivers on the computer to manage
the USB media, and to manage the broadband service. The USB / broadband drivers
would have to be loaded for all users.

If you have broadband DSL, using PPPoE, you could be using the standard PPP /
RAS drivers. If you have broadband using something like AOL (gack), you would
need their proprietary desktop agent, and would need instructions from AOL how
to share their service.

In short, you need to provide some detail as to what service you have, and how
you set it up in the first place. Then, if your ISP was thoughtful enough to
provide you with documentation, the documentation might explain how you can make
their service work for sequentially shared use.

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.

Rob,

one possible cause and solution is explained in
http://www.michna.com/kb/WxDialUp.htm. Not sure if it applies
here, but would like to know.
