I am having a problem where I can access most all sites but
there are a few that the system simply grinds and never
loads. I know it is isolated to a particular computer as
the other computer tied to the DSL connection is working
fine and can rapidly access the sites the other machine
won't. There do not appear to be any viruses (AVG
software) and cookies and Spybots have been cleaned (Spybot
Search and Destroy). Any suggestions?

Check for a file named HOSTS with no extension (not Hosts.sam). It may be a
hidden file. Open it with Notepad and remove any line referencing the site.
Or, rename HOSTS to OLDHOSTS

I'm having the same problem, eg I can't access
www.microsoft.com. However I found that when I type
microsoft's IP adress I do access the site. I used Ad
aware and spybot and PC Cilin antivirus but nothing is
found on my system. Seems like a url translation problem
or something. I also would like to know how to arrange
things. I run XP SP2 and IE6 SP1 .

Thanks for any help,

Henri

Do you update Ad-Aware and Spybot S & D before scanning with them?
