IE6 Crashing on certain websites

Running IE6 xp pro. Have cleaned out cookies, temp files (internet and windows), have run adware and spybot and nothing was found.

I am having problems viewing a 2 certain php sites, were viewable early last week, but now whenever I view, it opens about 30% and then crashes IE. Page viewable in NS7 and FFox 0.8

Have read all about the hosts file on this forum today. Am not at my own pc right now, but just need to know whether renaming the hosts file would fix this crashing problem.?

Thanks

Rename the HOSTS file oldHosts if that clears your problem then you know.
If not you can either for get about the file or rename it back to hosts (no
extension).

Check your Java Support
Found out what version you have and you should be able to get what you need.

Get the latest version if all fails.
