problem with XP Home Network drives

I set mapping of network drive on a XP Home PC connected
to LAN but it does not see the network drive unless I go
to the folder from "network places" and open it , it asks
me for a user name and password, when I enter the info.
the network drive become available.

I have a NT domain server managing network users.

could any one help me ?

Hi, Mohamed -

An XP Home machine cannot participate as part of a
domain - if you want permanent drive mappings and the
ability to log on to the domain you'll need to upgrade
the machine to XP Professional.
