Network log-in for Windows XP Home

I am trying to set up a single network log-in in Windows XP Home. We have
installed a new network and I am able to connect the home machine but I have
to log in to the machine, then log in to the shared network drive. I am
attempting to do this with one log-in. The users on both machines and the
passwords are indentical. Any ideas?

You do not have the "net use" parameters correctly set.
XP Home is restricted to Guest authentication. Hence, when you mount the
remote device, you must use the account Guest and the password for same.
I suppose, I should mention that you are not logging into the shared network
drive. Instead, you are logging into the computer to which the shared drive
is connected.
If you set this up correctly, you only need to login to the remote computer
the very first time that you mount the shared drive.
The web sites of MVP Jack and MVP Chuck have more details.
